Rainy season in Kyushu but Hydrangea season now!!

You can see the beautiful hydrangea in Maizuru park(free) and Uminonakamichi Kaihin park(¥410 for entrance fee) and so on.

Also they are on the streets!!  It might be fun to look for them!!

Maizuru park and Ohori park are next each other where they located in the city, even though you can feel the nature.

Uminonakamichi Kaihin park is surrounded by the sea.  You can hang out there all day!!  Check their web site: www.uminaka.go.jp

Wisteria flowers time now!! Right now!!

After cherry blossoms between the end of March and the beginning of April in Fukuoka, it's wisteria flowers time now!!!!!

I just went to see them in Yahata, Kitakyushu city where is about 1 and half or 2 hours away by train and bus from Fukuoka Hana hostel.  It's kana far but worth it!!!!!  It says we can see them till the end of this month on their web site but it's better to go now cos they started dying already:(

Next beautiful flower is hydrangea in June!!!!!  Can't wait to see them!!  We can see them in many places in Fukuoka!!

Dontaku Festival May 3rd and 4th

One of the biggest festivals in Fukuoka, Dontaku festival will be held in 3rd and 4th of May!

The parade goes around different parts of town druing 15:00 to early evening.
You can see the parade in the shopping arcade where Hana hostel are in!!

If you are interested in participating the parade, you can join the group of Hakata Traditional Craft Museum. They will be paforming on 4th.

Hakata Dontaku!! TA-DA

 Hakata Dontaku is coming soon!!

Dontaku is one of the biggest festival which has over 830 years of history in Japan.
Over 2 million people come to see this fes!
There will be food stalls, daytime performances on 34 stages, and, in the evening, illuminated floats roll through the streets.

 If you are in Fukuoka, it's MUST see event :D


Date: 3rd of May(Sun.), 4th of May(Mon.)
Place: Around central Fukuoka city

Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival

Lights are up around 1000 Sakura tree of Fukuoka Castle ruin.

Some events like walking tours around city and castle ruin, and kids events are held at Maizuru park.

Date: March 26th to April 5th.

Light up time: 18:00～22:00

In forign countries, men give presents to women who they are in love.
But in Japan, women give chocolates or presents to men who they like.
It's opposite!

But I think no matter who you are, you can just give present to someone who you like.
Because present is for making people happy :)
